- Winter Garden aGlow (Idaho Botanical Gardens)
Out of the many things to do in Boise during Christmas, this activity is perfect for the whole family. With over 300,000 lights, the Winter Garden aGlow brings the Idaho Botanical Gardens to life. Now through January, the Idaho Botanical Gardens provides hot cocoa, live singing, and fire barrels to keep you warm. You don’t want to miss this one.
- Thunder Mountain Line (Horseshoe Bend)
This magical train ride takes you round-trip from Horseshoe Bend to Montour in only an hour and a half. Enjoy a breathtaking trip along the Payette River to really get you into the Christmas spirit. - Holiday Farmer’s Markets
Saturday mornings are for sleeping in, but not during the Boise holiday farmer’s market. The Boise Farmer’s Markets offer the best winter produce, wines and cheeses, holiday desserts, and handmade holiday crafts in two Boise locations.

- Downtown Carriage Rides
When you need a little break from all the holiday shopping and walking around, the Downtown Carriage Rides are a must. It’s free every Friday and Saturday, now until December 15th. Find them on the corner of 9th and Bannock.
- Classic Christmas Movie Showings (Egyptian Theatre)
If you’re trying to keep out of the cold, settle down in the warm Egyptian Theatre on 700 W Main Street.
